Visited on a Friday afternoon during half term, carpark was quite full but didn’t feel busy at all.
Some of the gardens were shut off so didn’t take us long to get round the grounds. I think if you have children or want a slow couple of hours to pass the time & grab a drink it’s a lovely place but we struggled to make a day of it.
House Access - There is a flat access path from carpark to entrance then a ramp to enter, the grounds are rather uneven. When entering the house there is a steep staircase to go upstairs or a main staircase you can go up if you struggle with mobility. Upstairs the floors are sloped and uneven and there is NO lift access.
Tearoom Access - There is a steep uneven slope down to the tearoom but to access the tables outside there is two steps up. Unsure of any other access. There is one disabled toilet next door to tea room.

Interesting building. Fascinating and detailed history recounted on the guided tour.
Slightly limited as the work on the grounds still i progress, will probably go again to explore this when finished.
Try to ignore the fly tipping and potholes on the approach roads, it had me convinced I'd taken a wrong turn.

I always enjoy it here. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The grounds are lovely particularly in spring. The tour and talk if the main house is really interesting, there's several versions. Plenty of places to sit and eat outside, benches etc, I'd recommend take your own food and drink as that is expensive and the café is small and restrictive in it's layout and can get crowded. (Lots of fly tipping down the lane on approach lately, not the halls fault, but that needs sorting- council or preventative measures as it does ruin the first impression). Don't let that put you off.

It's nice, fairly small, but staff were knowledgeable and helpful. We had a walk through woods to another farm and ate, was nice.

Don’t be fooled because hidden behind the brick facade, lies a hidden gem of a Tudor building.
We visited on the final opening day of January, a cold, wet and foggy day meant it wasn’t overly busy. We booked the King Charles tour, which you ask for at reception when you first arrive. With a few minutes to spare, we enjoyed a lovely cuppa with friends in the barn tea room before, we walked across to meet Lynn our volunteer tour guide and from that moment on, we felt we had stepped in time to the bygone age of the Stuart’s. Lynns knowledge and passion for history brought the house to life, we enjoyed every minute!

We stopped in for a explore in winter and found lots of things for kids to do - both outdoor things (Den Building, the 'tree house') and indoor (with stories of Witches in the house!). A enjoyable visit!

Great place for the kids, lots of outdoor activities. It's muddy in the winter so wear wellies. It's currently got a Christmas trail for an extra £3 per child, with a nice prize at the end.

Small property, yet full of history. Take the guided tour - you can thank me later.
